VFT is a start-up that is commercializing fiber reactor technology out of its headquarters in Lockhart, TX (about 20 minutes south of Austin). In addition to ongoing commercialization in refining crude vegetable oils, VFT is aggressively developing its revolutionary technology for application in various industries that depend on phase transfer catalysis.

 

The profile of candidates we're looking for are:

  • Collaborative individuals that aren't afraid to think outside the box and challenge assumptions, but recognize teams are always stronger than an individual

  • Keen understanding of commercial terms and conditions as well as strong negotiation skills

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and sourcing principles

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage supplier relationships and long-term partnerships

  • Knowledge of Master Supply Agreement content and structure, including, but not limited to, legal terms and conditions, transportation INCO terms, payment terms, SOX compliance and import and export regulations

  • Implementation (preferred) or management of an ERP system

  • Self-motivated and results driven attitude

  • Ability to effectively present complex information to both internal and external groups

  • Strong analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or related discipline

  • Minimum 5 years of Sourcing/Procurement experience

 

What you'll be asked to do:

 

  • Work side-by-side with world class scientists and engineers in a team-oriented collaborative culture with advancement based on meritocracy

  • Use problem solving skills to develop processes and methods to solve new and unique technical problems

  • Lead End-to-End sourcing operations to meet business demand

  • Procurement Plan Preparation: identifying all key equipment, materials and third-party contract services required, purchasing/contracting strategy proposed, proposed vendors and budget cost estimate

  • Preparation of an approved vendor list for the project and or coordination with approved vendors

  • Preparation and issuance of request for quotation packages to vendors

  • Evaluation of vendor bids and preparation of recommendations for award

  • Preparation and issuance of Purchase Orders for equipment and materials

  • Proficient understanding of the process for expediting of equipment and materials, ensuring all inspection and other quality assurance requirements are met

  • Overseeing site control of equipment and material, including goods receipt, storage, issue and surplus management

  • Verification of receipt of equipment and materials, and third-party services for invoice payment

  • Reviewing and processing of any claims against vendors for unsatisfactory equipment, materials or third-party services

  • Monitoring of third-party service contacts to ensure performance per specifications

  • Preparation and issuance of relevant procurement reports on a regular basis throughout the project lifecycle

  • Maintain focus on added value, lowest total "life cycle" and cost savings

  • Implement measurement systems to measure performance level of the sourcing strategy and supplier effectiveness

  • Maintain relationships with key supplier contracts and contribute to supplier continuous improvement initiatives

  • Communicate with Sales and Operations teams to understand current and future demand

  • Possess a thorough understanding of S&OP process, including supply forecasting

  • Knowledge of market dynamics and commodity outlook

  • Ability to analyze data and business intelligence to identify and exploit trends in the market
